Rare Days

Good morning. Have you been enjoying sunshine days of about sixty degrees. . . no? Well we are crowing as we are having really beautiful weather to walk out and enjoy. Like the beautiful albino peacock, it is rare for December First, yep, the first of a brand new month and it is bound to be a busy one for all of us.
I walked out yesterday and got as far as the post office where I mailed my new novel "Collage" to my daughter Christine. She is having a birthday soon and I wanted her to have it for her book collection. She may read it, or she may not, time will tell. At least I know she will have a birthday present to open. I must have spent two days on the computer trying hard to find her a gift that I could send through the on line shopping. I found a couple of places she would have really enjoyed browsing through. I finally chose a gift and went through the entire repertoire of filling in all of the blanks and then pushed the key submit. Well it didn't submit. I tried again, and once more time and every time I got to 'submit' it would not follow the command. I did e mail the company and they were obliging in answering me telling me that my order was in the 'queue' and to 'submit' so when I went back in my order was there and so was three others all being charged to my credit card I'm sure, but no order was going to be sent. I tried again but to no avail, so I just sent another e -mail and told them to forgot it. I gave up and hopefully those little boxes I checked to delete the order went through. Meanwhile I found another on line store and I think I was successful. I haven't had confirmation so I'm a little worried. Guess my morning will be spent trying to find out if I was successful or not. Christine may not get a package to open on her birthday.
I did have some Irish luck yesterday as the Good Lord had me in the right place at the right time. As I walked out of the post office I walked into a hug from Dee as she was mailing a package and had some free time so we could have lunch together. What a delightful encounter. We drove down to the casino, well the food is good there, honest. We did play awhile and at first the machines gobbled our play money but turned around and each of us walked off with a small win. We not only got our own money back, after a lot of play, but came out ahead of the game. Our lunch was special and we had time to get acquainted. Usually we are with the birthday folks and enjoying their company but there is never time for a real conversation. I'd say we made up for lost time, developed the start of a new friendship and looking forward to some lazy Sunday visits when we can spend some time together.
I hope that you find shopping on line a bit easier as you may be a lot more computer literate than I am. I have a short list to fill this year and no ideas. Maybe you are in better shape and have your shopping all done. If so, drop a hint or two, so I can stop musing about what I should buy for family and friends who do not want anything. or so they tell me, but come Christmas morning without a gift under the tree. . . how disappointing. I could buy each of them the new Sarah Palin book, understand over two million copies of been bought and she is flying around in a private jet for book signing sessions. Boy, I can't be jealous without showing it. I haven't had a book signing since eons ago and I have twelve books out there . . . good ones too! Because 'I said so." Smile today it chases wrinkles away, and practice in front of a mirror and watch them disappear.
